DIY-ing.

OH.MY.GOSH. I have been in a DIY/ crafting/ thrift storing FRENZY! Remember my chalkboard frame post? Well now is the time I am trying all the other ideas from other blogs out! I have completely redone a whole desk and chair- I have also made a CAAUUUTTTEEE cork board thingy for my classroom at school. I have also found so many treasures at Goodwill! And I'm talkin CHEAP treasures... like $1 treasures. Those are the best kind.
Notice the THICK, BRIGHT blue paint! geez- that was tough to cover in white!! Anyways things I learned.... sanding takes a long time, always use enough Primer... even if you have to go back after another spray can, always paint with a foam roller, and be very patient! This DIY project took more money than I anticipated. The original desk was $20 so it was cheap but paint, stupid paint is expensive! Plus I didnt have any supplies like paint tray, roller, and other randomness. Now that I do have it I don't think my next project will be as expensive! Re-doing costs were probably around $35 so the desk cost about $55 to purchase and redo which I guess isn't too bad!
I got my idea for these adorable drawer pulls here. It is so much more simple (not to mention cheaper!) than buying all new hardware.
My cute chair has the same fabric as my drawer pulls! I love love LOVE how this $5 goodwill chair turned out!
The desk is now more decorated with a cute little yellow picture frame with that fabric as a background and a red-ish "S" in the middle. Notice my $1 green tray from Goodwill? love it!
This started out as a plain ol' $8 cork board from Hobby Lobby. I love how it turned out! Steph helped me with placing the ribbon :)
